Atlas of sounds/Forest, sonic performance

Beech Woods (meeting at the Szmaragdowe Lake)

Atlas is an archive-based form. It selects documents, pictures, sounds from an infinite number of boxes and files. It uses the method of brutal cuts where the archive statters with an unmanageable mass. It forces to take a specific position in terms of memory, genealogy, and archeology. (Georges Didi-Huberman)

The performance is a collection of six stories that share a common perspective – sensitivity to auditory sensations. They show a private world, bizarre collections, impossible archives. Each narrative proceeds at a different pace and is told by different means. We travel through time and space, listening to the earth’s crust, that holds the remains of our ancestors.

Atlas of sounds / Forest is a special presentation of stories related to nature – both directly related to the Beech Forest itself and the spaces where nature is combined with the products of human civilization.
