(Katarzyna Suska / Szczecin, the workshops)
“Motanka” (Polish for ‘a tangled one’) is a name for a tiny dolls made by village women for protective and ritualistic reasons. They fulfilled wishes, or were used to play with. During the workshop we will focus mainly on the latter function. We want the kids to learn how to use simple techniques and creativity to make the unique toys. Each participant will come up with their own story and will name their dolls, and then we will make them it together – just as they used to be made in the past. Join us, bring your imagination and use it. We are going to make the magic dolls which are unique and special.
