Kazuya Nagaya

Kazuya Nagaya plays musical instruments used in Buddhist and Hindu rituals in Tibet, Japan and Bali, creating unique music by combining these sacred sounds with modern electronics. His music is deeply linked to Buddhist philosophy – it is the "music of silence", referring to meditative experiences, and being the way of inner searching, and at the same time an attempt to touch the truth recorded in the wild, in nature, in phenomena. Ambient music created by Nagaya aims to show the listener the depth of the spirit through simplicity rooted in specifically Japanese philosophy, sensibility and art. Nagaya is also a performer. He has collaborated with musicians, dancers, painters, story-tells, as well as Buddhist monks.
