Witold Broda, the founder of the group, has been rereading the sources of Polish traditional music, seeking folk violinists, cymbalists and dancers, documenting and studying their repertoire for more than 20 years. During the concert the group will present music from their latest album, titled "Muzikaim" - an extraordinary record of traces of Jewish music remembered and processed by Polish folk musicians. Surprisingly, this music, which remains alive, danceable and thrilling, has practically nothing in common with Klezmer tradition – apart from intriguing harmony. As Broda says, "A musician, when he hears a theme that he likes, begins to use it. This is the power of every music - Jewish, Polish or Gypsy." This is music made of overheard phrases, themes, pieces and records, in which the new life has been inspired.
