CITY/WORK - SEMINAR (Poland/Norway)

The seminar is a meeting of Polish and Norwegian researchers and practitioners specializing in activities in public and extra-theatrical spaces. Speeches combined with presentations of unique footages will deal with issues related both to history of street actions (especially in the context of artistic non-conformist manifestos of Polish alternative theater - one of the guests will be Jolanta Krukowska, an actress of the legendary Warsaw-based Akademia Ruchu Theatre), and multiplicity of modern performative trends being implemented in Europe and in the world now (in reflection of Ricardo Borgström – a curator of international performing arts festivals and Knut Ove Arntzen – a Norwegian writer, art critic, and a lecturer at the Bergen University). The seminar will be also very strongly marked by the Szczecin’s context: Helena Freino (Szczecin-based architect and city planner) – besides her speech within intramural conference – will also provide the audience with a mobile lecture, combined with sightseeing of non-obvious area of the city. The seminar will be accompanied by a discussion participated by Szczecin’s artistic circles on the impact of artistic intervention on changing the way of thinking about the city.
